Lameness is the most commonly reported owner concern and cause of poor performance in horses. Accurate diagnosis of lameness in the horse requires a trained eye and a complete and thorough exam. We begin our assessments with a thorough history, followed by a physical examination and an evaluation of your horses movement while exercising. Palpation, flexion tests and nerve/joint blocks may be performed in order to further isolate the area causing lameness. Further diagnostics such as digital radiographs (x-rays), ultrasound, CT or MRI may be recommended following this assessment. Once the area of lameness has been identified, treatment options will be discussed with the client. Our goal is to provide a treatment plan that is specific to each horse and best suits the needs of the client.
Our services for routine health procedures are limited at this time. Currently we provide a thorough general health exam (including oral exam) for common disorders or conditions affecting the respiratory, endocrine and gastrointestinal systems and dermatological conditions. This service includes a complete history and physical exam. Further diagnostics such as bloodwork, endoscopy, gastroscopy or diagnostic imaging may be recommended.
